Edwardian Swiss Timepiece by Buren - £250.00
The case
This is a very elegant mantle clock in superb burr walnut, with ormolu mounts. To the front, four spandrels surround the brass bezel, a plaque to either side. At the very top a carrying handle, below this there is another floral design. The four turned feet finish off this beautiful clock.
The movement
Swiss manufacture by Buren, 8 day duration with lever platform escapement. Captured key, hand setter.
The dial
Gold printed arabic numerals with etched design to central area.
Blued steel original hands with convex glass to bezel. Rear push fit dust cover.

Round, Mahogany in colour with heavy brass bezel with flat bevelled glass.
Four wood pegs hold the front bezel & dial to back box with door at the bottom for pendulum accessibility, with a further side door to view the movement, Excellent condition.
Dial
White enamel with roman numerals, 8" in diameter with brass spade hands. Name to the dial:-- French & son London. Tiny chip just below the hands on the centre hole.
Movement
Brass four pillar heavy plate single fusee with phospher bronze line, 8 day duration, restored.

The case
Mahogany in colour with paterae as spandrels, four claw feet, with two further paterae to the sides of the case. Flat glass to bezel.
The movement & dial.
30 hr spring wind from the back, The pendulum literally flies, then the thread winds around the post, unwinds, then flies across to repeat the process. Card dial with various patent dates. This is a reproduction of the original made in America in 1883, all the dates are reproduced on the dial.
